Diwali, also called as the Festival of Light, is one of the most festive and popular occasions across the India. One of the main attraction during this auspicious festival is lighting homes with clay lamp, mostly known as “Diyas”. These lamps are clay-made with the shape of small bowls.
The celebration of Diwali festival usually falls between the months of October and November. Hindus celebrate this joyous festival to commemorate Lord Rama’s return together with Lakshma and Sita.
Legends said that when the king returned from vanquishing Ravana, considered as the demon lord, the entire kingdom was illuminated with Diyas and celebrated the triumph of light over darkness by bursting lots of firecrackers.
